Master's Degree+Public/University/Industry+WoS Supported Thesis Project

In the case of collaboration with Public/University/Industry for Master's Thesis projects and if publications are made in journals indexed in Web of Science within the scope of Thesis Projects completed after 01.01.2022 (provided that the publication meets the publication requirements specified in the Directive and the requested documents related to the publication are accepted by the Commission), the project budget is increased by 100% in a new project application of the same type (One project is supported for each publication).
Definition and Scope: Projects where Master's thesis topics approved by the Institute Board of Directors of the Higher Education Institution are converted into project format and conducted under the supervision of an advisor, with only the thesis student and, if any, the second advisor as assistant researchers.
Who Can Apply:
- Our university faculty members who have completed their doctorate can apply.
- A student has the right to receive support for only one master's study within our university.
Application Process and Evaluation Principles:
- The support upper limit for this type of project is decided at the BAP Commission meeting and announced on the BAP website.
- Applications are made through BAP Automation.
- Master's Thesis Project Applications are carried out after the thesis proposal (title) is approved by the Institute Board of Directors.
- Project applications may be sent for review by referees whose number and qualifications are determined by the BAP Commission if deemed necessary, and the commission decides whether to support the project based on the referees' opinions.
- Project coordinators applying for this type of project must have published in journals indexed in Web of Science within the scope of Thesis Projects completed after 01.01.2022 (in the duration, form, and number specified in the Directive).
- Project coordinators applying for this type of project must apply to the BAP Coordination after making a protocol with the public/university/industry to be collaborated with.
Restrictions:
- Restrictions are specified in postgraduate thesis projects.
Execution and Conclusion Process:
- Interim reports are sent online through BAP Automation in accordance with the interim report format at one-year intervals.
- All requests (additional materials, additional time, adding/removing researchers, etc.) are sent through BAP Automation.
- The final reports of thesis projects are accepted as the theses approved by the relevant institute. However, if there is no obligation to mention the support of the BAP Coordination in any part of the thesis in the thesis writing guide of the relevant institute, it is mandatory to include a statement on the summary and abstract pages of the thesis copy submitted to the BAP Coordination such as “This study was supported by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Scientific Research Projects Unit. Project Number: ..…”.
- To conclude the project, project coordinators must upload the electronic version of the thesis they uploaded to YÖKTEZ as a pdf and the relevant EYK decision that the thesis was successfully completed to BAP Automation.
- To freeze thesis projects, the project coordinator's request and the student's study period must be frozen by the decision of the relevant institute. Thesis projects can be frozen for the duration frozen by the relevant institute.
- The affiliation of the student who is a researcher can be terminated after the final report (the thesis itself) is uploaded to BAP Automation.
- The final reports of this type of project must be published as a full-text article in journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, and/or TR Index (or have received a DOI number) within two years at the latest.
- It is mandatory to include a statement in the published article such as "This study was supported by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Scientific Research Projects Commission. Project Number: …” or a similar meaning.
