Graduate Thesis Projects

Definition and Scope: These are projects where thesis topics approved by the Institute Administrative Board Decision of the Higher Education Institution are transformed into a project format, under the supervision of an advisor, with only the thesis student and, if any, the second advisor as assistant researchers.

Who Can Apply:

  1. Our university faculty members who have completed their doctorate can apply.
  2. A student has the right to receive support for only one master's and one doctoral study within our university.

Application Process and Evaluation Principles:

  1. The support upper limit for this type of project is decided at the BAP Commission meeting and announced on the BAP website.
  2. Applications are made through BAP Automation.
  3. Thesis Project Applications are made after the approval of the thesis proposal (title) by the Institute Administrative Board Decision, and in the case of specialization theses, after the decision of the relevant department academic board is taken.
  4. Project applications may be sent for review by referees whose number and qualifications are determined by the BAP Commission if deemed necessary, and the commission decides whether to support the project based on the referees' opinions.
  5. If it is desired for thesis projects to be evaluated within the scope of the Regional Focused Mission Differentiation and Specialization Project (Livestock Project), it is necessary to first apply to our University's Livestock Specialization Coordination.

Restrictions:

  1. Project managers can supervise a maximum of 12 graduate thesis projects at the same time.
  2. No travel, daily allowance, and participation fee are paid for activities related to participation in domestic or international congresses, symposiums, conferences, etc., for the project manager/second advisor if any, only support is provided for the thesis student who is an assistant researcher, and the upper limit is updated by the BAP Commission.
  3. The upper limit for fuel, stationery, office supplies, and printing binding expenses is updated by the BAP Commission. The determined upper limits are announced on the BAP website. (Except for photocopying requests within the scope of survey/scale/application)
  4. No translation fee is paid within the scope of thesis projects, but payment is made for proofreading services for articles prepared to be published in journals indexed in Web of Science. The upper limit for proofreading fees is determined annually by the BAP Commission. The determined upper limits are announced on the BAP website.
  5. The contribution rates of the manager and researcher in thesis projects should be distributed equally. If there is a second researcher in the projects, the contribution rate of the project manager should be 60%, and the contribution rates of the other researchers should be distributed equally.
  6. In projects receiving Livestock Project support, if a change in title, content, type, or addition/removal of researchers is requested, it is necessary to first apply to the Livestock Specialization Coordination and then apply to the BAP Coordination with the project execution board decision regarding the arrangement. In projects determined by the project execution board to have deviated from the livestock project axis, 50% of the livestock project support is collected from the project manager along with the legal interest calculated on the payment day.
  7. Assistant researchers who have previously received project support but have not successfully completed the project are not given a new project of the same type.

Execution and Conclusion Process:

  1. Interim reports are sent online through BAP Automation in accordance with the interim report format at one-year intervals.
  2. All requests (additional material, additional time, adding/removing researchers, etc.) are sent through BAP Automation.
  3. The final reports of thesis projects are accepted as the theses approved by the relevant institute. However, if there is no obligation to mention the support of the BAP Coordination anywhere in the thesis writing guide of the relevant institute, it is mandatory to include a statement on the summary and abstract pages of the thesis copy submitted to the BAP Coordination, such as “This Research was supported by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Scientific Research Projects Commission Presidency. Project Number: ..…”, “This study was supported by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Scientific Research Projects Unit. Project Number: .…”
  4. To conclude the project, project managers must upload the electronic version of the thesis they uploaded to YÖKTEZ as a pdf and the relevant EYK decision stating that the thesis has been successfully completed to BAP Automation.
  5. For thesis projects to be frozen, the project manager's request and the student's relevant institute decision must have frozen the study period. Thesis projects can be frozen for the duration frozen by the relevant institute.
  6. The affiliation of the student who is a researcher can be terminated after the final report (the thesis itself) is uploaded to BAP automation.

The final reports of this type of project must be published in the number, time, and manner specified in the BAP Directive.
